Or you could PM Yukito. He does great things with tactics, though I'm sure he'll tell you to ditch the sword.

Why would he tell him to ditch the sword?
Anyways. Skills I prefer to go with a tactics/sword warrior are:
Riposte, Deadly Riporte, Final Thrust, Savage Slash Bonetti's Defense. Just a few. I wonder about using Battle Rage, or Dolyak signet, or something of the like.

In PvE, sword MIGHT rock if you're not looking for bleeding as your main conditions [axe owns you ]
Tactics attacks that are Riposte and Deadly Riposte work with sword and they hit back HARD... [yay for buff]
Sword Tactics works well from a pve standpoint. Let's look at the PvE tank [16 weapon mastery isn't necessary really]
10+1+1 Swordsmanship
9+1 Tactics
7+1 Strength
10 Curses
Galrath Slash
Riposte
Deadly Riposte
Bonetti's Defense
Gladiator's Defense {E}
Shield Stance
Enfeebling Blood
Mark of Pain
at 12/10/10/8, you've got a strong balance of defensive and reflective attacks. Gladiator's Defense can tear a mob into pieces when combined with Mark of Pain.
Mark of Pain at 10 Curses is 30 AoE shadow damage PER HIT... So if you've got ranger buddies who follow the target call [as any good ranger will do if you're the caller rightfully], you can decimate a mob in seconds.
If you wanted to solo, you may want to bring Healing Signet and perhaps Switch up your skills a bit. How about this? [stats are the same]
Seeking Blade
Sever Artery [iffy]
Gash [VERY iffy]
Bonetti's Defense
Victory is Mine! {E}
Plague Touch
Enfeebling Blood
Mark of Pain
This is the swords version of my Axe wielding farmer. Sadly, Bleeding doesn't apply to many monsters so it's inferior to the axe user, but it can solo to a degree. I'd suggest using my first previous build to party with a group that has a competent healer.

Yukito, try swapping Hundred Blades for Galdiator's and use Disciplined Stance instead of the Galrath's Slash for that first build and you have a solo'ing MACHINE.
Hundred Blades strikes the Mark of Pain target AND all surrounding enemies twice. Triggers Mark twice and can be used a few times before Mark of Pain ends and then you are probably out of energy and use Bonnetti's and ride out to the end of Mark of Pain, then recast, then riposte/deadly riposte/stances/hundred blades.
Also if you think you can manage the energy drain, drop Deadly Riposte for Parasitic Bond. Some decentish and useful healing there for the cost.
